The Wlodawa commune is a "land" located at the eastern border of the European Union among the picturesque Sobibor forests. Its greatest treasure is the Białe Lake, called the tourist pearl of the Lublin region because of having a well-developed tourist base.

Legend has it that the White Lake was formed from a bundle of white threads, which the mysterious lady had thrown into the nearby Black Lake a long time ago and from it the White Lake was created, connected with Lake Black by the thread of an underground stream. The name of the town of Okuninka lying on the lake comes from lakes and ponds, called "okes", numerous in this area. The symbol of Okuninka is the Crocodile, which, according to legend, prowled in the area, and whose days are celebrated as a tourist festival every year.

Summer on Lake Biale lasts on average about 105 days a year, while the surrounding areas have become a leisure center and the best-managed tourist base in Eastern Poland. It houses over 95 holiday resorts as well as shopping and service centers with numerous catering outlets.
The landscape attractiveness of the Wlodawa commune is determined by numerous and picturesque lakes and large forest complexes, which undoubtedly constitute the great wealth of the commune. Their clean waters and picturesque location among the surrounding forests create an unforgettable impression. The richness of these lakes are also fish, and especially species: vendace, pike, zander, eel, perch, carp, tench, surrounded by forests and rushes have become a paradise for anglers.
In addition to anglers, the municipality is a kind of "mecca" for canoeists. The picturesque location and the calm current of the Wlodawka River is a favorite canoeing trip, while for the brave we recommend rafting on the wild Bug River.
The next attraction this time for lovers of cycling is the picturesque East Green Bicycle Trail, whose route, which is almost 2000 km long, runs partly through the municipality of Wlodawa.
Admirers of admiring the beautiful Wlodawa landscapes from the horse's back will be undoubtedly the picturesque horse trail "On the Hutsul Ridge", which is part of the Polesie Horse Trail. It connects several municipalities of the Chelm and Wlodawa poviats. In the Wlodawa commune, it runs, among others, through the Sobiborski Landscape Park and Okuninka. This route is the result of great interest in horse tourism and the breeding of horse horses in the Wlodawa commune.

Another wealth of the commune is the Sobiborski Landscape Park located within its borders, where there are protected, extremely rare species of animals and plants, as well as wolves, elks, beavers and zig-zag vipers. The beauty of these forests is overshadowed by the tragedy that happened near the Sobibor railway station. It was here in 1942 that the Nazis established a Jewish extermination camp to which the Jewish population was transported from eastern Poland, the USSR, Austria, Czechoslovakia, France and the Netherlands. In October 1943. a prisoner rebellion broke out in the camp, during which many of them died, but some managed to escape. After the revolt, the Germans liquidated the camp and planted the forest to cover up the traces of genocide. Currently, there is a museum of the former Nazi Extermination Camp in Sobibor.
Tourist and sightseeing values of the commune mean that there are perfect conditions for the development of agritourism. Agritourism farms offer guests many attractions, including regional cuisine, horse riding and sleigh rides in winter.
