Zwierzyniec Commune

The capitol of the Zwierzyniec commune is the city of Zwierzyniec,  the pearl of famous Roztocze Land. Zwierzyniec was established in 1593, when the owner - founder Chancellor Jan Zamoyski created, then the second in Poland, a hunting lodge, fenced with a 30-kilometer fence and built an impressive larch manor house, in which he hosted Polish kings, among others from the Vasa dynasty. The impetus for the town's development was the transfer of the Zamoyski Board in the nineteenth century and the establishment of the first agricultural machinery factory in Poland (1804) and a brewery still operating today (1806). At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Zwierzyniec became a fashionable summer resort, in which a park called the treasury garden was arranged, and in 1905 the fence of the hunting lodge was definitely demolished.

Nowhere in Poland or even in the world there is a monument ... of locusts. This monument, moved from Hamernia, commemorates the fighting of locusts from 1711 and can be admired in the park of Zwierzyniec. In the number of 3.5 thousand There are as many as 65 different monuments, tables and religious and historical figures in Zwierzyniec. You can find them ... and it is necessary to approach the most mysterious monument in the town. "Mysterious Eye." It is still unknown: What? Who? How? Zwierzyniec and Roztocze Land have the most sunny days in Poland and one of the most beautiful beaches in Roztocze in the picturesque valley of "Świerszcz", among the forests adjacent to Ponds Echo. To "forget" it is enough to walk only a kilometer ... along the stream and on the platforms protecting the dune. Along the way, we invite you to the Education and Museum Center RPN, from where there are tourist routes and a path to the most beautiful Roztocze reserves. The "royal road", which Marysieńka Sobieska once walked through the Bukowa Góra Reserve, leads through. Monumental firs and beeches could tell us a lot today ... From the top of the mountain there is a view of Central Roztocze.

History and literature enthusiasts should go down to the town of Sochy, where there is a cemetery for the victims of pacification. Anna Janko, the daughter of the surviving poet Teresa Ferenc, talks about the events of June 1, 1943 in "the small extermination." Despite the difficult family history, it is worth getting to know her and providing her library with this item. Returning to the center of the town, we can still stop at the Echo ponds, and more precisely enter the viewpoint. From there, when we are lucky, you can see the beautiful herds of Polish pony from afar, whose breeding in nearby Florianka - the mid-forest settlement is run by RPN.
